A215 wins Westmill R1

The Herts Nitro Club Winter Series got off to a flyer for Jon Hazlewood and the new Agama A215 buggy at the weekend. Jon was running the full production A215.

Weather conditions were cool, but thankfully dry for the meeting and with the likes of Elliott Boots and Jack Embling in attendance, the competition was very high.
Throughout qualifying Jon was able to run close to the front in all rounds, taking 2nd overall in each of the 3 rounds of qualifying to place 2nd overall. Having been on his usual favourite of BETA Freerides, he choose to run the Cubez for the final and found them to be better again on the recently prepared, yet slippery surface.

The final got underway with Jack forcing his way past Jon on the opening lap but Jon was not deterred and quickly put a pass on him. He then set about the leader Elliott and slowly but surely got closer and closer until Elliott made a mistake allowing Jon in to the lead from where he gradually pulled away. By the time of the second pit stops, Jon had enough in hand to make his stop and still rejoin the track ahead of his competition. He was comfortable over the course of the last 6 minutes and took the win 13 seconds  ahead of Jack who benefitted from a late mistake from Elliott to take 2nd with Elliott 3rd.

Simon Reeves also used Beta tires to take the win in the eBuggy class at cap a great weekend. We look forward to the next round.
