Westmill Win

Jon Hazlewood continued his recent run of good form with another win at Herts RC track over the weekend, the first round of their winter series.

With the weather anything but winter series like, a good turn out was present to race on the immaculately prepared track.

Qualifying saw Jon start out with a steady 2nd in round 1 as he felt his way into the track. A blow out in round 2 left him needing a score in round 3 to be near the sharp end. Jon responded with a fine TQ in round to place BULLITT powered Agama A8FR Cup second on the grid. An excellent performance from Piranha/BETA driver Callum Nibblet saw him line up 3rd overall for the main final.

The main final turned into an epic race with some fast guys who had qualified further back, getting themselves into contention after good starts. Jon had no worries as he got the lead, and kept it to the flag, looking fast and comfortable all the way. 2nd place was hotly contested throughout and BETA shod Simon Reeves used his 1 stop strategy to bring him right into the mix. He was kept honest all the way by Agama driver Ollie Currie after an outstanding drive. Ollie was right back on form this weekend and pushed Simon right to the flag, finishing 1.5 seconds behind in 3rd to complete yet another BETA tyre lockout of the podium.

Completing the days domination, Simon Reeves took the Electric Buggy class also running BETA tyres.
